Three Rebel reporters assaulted: Help us fight back

This week, our reporter Keean Bexte was assaulted by a leftist activist while he was covering the United We Roll pro-pipeline convoy in Ottawa.

Keean had done great work covering the convoy all across Canada. They were now at their final destination — Parliament Hill, at a rally that featured many Members of Parliament. Keean covered the official speeches, but we also like to cover what protesters and counter-demonstrators say — often just because they are so amazingly inarticulate.

So Keean was amongst the Antifa types asking them for their views. When he was talking to one guy, another leftist thug sneaked up and hit him.

Now, obviously, it didn’t deeply hurt Keean. But it was shocking. And it damaged his phone. And more to the point — it was an assault. Because some thug didn’t like what Keean had to say, or what Keean had to think.

And the cops just did nothing. In fact, worse than nothing — Keean told me that police, who were literally standing right there, told him if he wanted to make a complaint, he should call the police department.

Gee — I wonder where these leftist protesters get the idea that they can punch a reporter and get away with it?

Now, if Keean were a CBC reporter, would the police have ignored it? We don’t know because I have never seen a liberal reporter in Canada get attacked. I’ve seen them get pranked and heckled, in which case, police actually lay charges. Usually, because the rest of the media makes such a fuss about it. (Remember the Ontario Hydro employee who lost his job for laughing?)

But if you’re a conservative? Well, it’s becoming a weekly thing.

A couple of weeks ago, two other Rebel journalists were attacked.

We were lawfully on that property; that Radisson manager then asked us to leave, and we were about to leave, Menzies even started to say he was leaving, when the manager punched David and Efron and punched our gear.

And of course, it’s not the first time. The worst was when some male feminist named Dion Bews hit our Sheila Gunn Reid — at a women’s march, no less.

In the end, Dion Bews was convicted, but because of a court error, he got off with a slap on the wrist. So we sued him in civil court for more than a year, and we finally got justice in the form of a court order.

It cost us more than $30,000 in legal bills. Bews had to pay Sheila just $3,500, but for the rest of his life he’ll be known as the cowardly male feminist who hits women: I’ve bought the website DionBews.com that will forever point to that video — until he actually apologizes to Sheila, which that little coward hasn’t done yet.

And I’m pleased to say that, today, we filed a lawsuit in the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, against the Radisson Toronto East hotel, and their manager David Strong, on behalf of our employees, David and Efron.

We’re suing for just $10,000 each, a total of $20,000. We’ll pay far more than that in legal fees.

Why are we doing it? Because the police haven’t laid charges. David and Efron went to the police station and filed a report, and they said they’d send someone over to the Radisson to give them a caution.

Swear on TV in front of the liberal media, and the police will charge you with a crime; you’ll be fired from your job at Ontario Hydro if you even laugh. But punch two guys? Well, the police will go by, maybe, and just warn the guy.

Yeah, no, that’s not enough. We’re doing this for justice.

And we’re doing it to send a message to the rest of the world:

If you touch our people, we will sue you, even if it takes years, even if it takes thousands of dollars.

We will have justice for our people.

Today, I am asking you, our viewers, to help me identify the Antifa thug who hit Keean.

I’m going to put this video on YouTube and e-mail it out widely. That’s how we found Dion Bews — we posted the video and offered a bounty. And his friends turned him in almost immediately. Actually, one family member did too.

So I’m offering a $500 reward for the first person who correctly identifies the thug who hit Keean.

We’ll keep your identity confidential. You can send tips to [email protected].

No vigilantism, please. Just tell us who he is, and we’ll do the rest.

The second thing I need your help with is to pay for the lawyers.

Because the police don’t plan to investigate, I’m going to need $30,000 to sue him, and $30,000 more to sue the Radisson.

If you can help me cover those legal bills, please do by using the form below.

This is part of the price of being a conservative in Canada. But I think we have to pay it.
